Network Configuration

The 'Network Configuration' setting allows a venue to connect Bbot's Printer Control Box and connect, disconnect, or monitor printers and configure printing from the Bbot Terminal.

To access the Network Configuration settings, log into the Bbot Owner panel and click 'Network Configuration' under the 'Restaurant Setup' heading.

You can add a new printing network by clicking 'Create a new Printing Network '. This will allow you to add a new Printer Control Box, a new printer, or to add a device profile to print from the Bbot Terminal.

You will need to enter a name for your new network to identify it and after entering a name, click 'Save' to finish adding it.

If you're using a Printer Control Box, you will need to add one by clicking the '+' symbol.

In the popup window, enter the serial number of your Printer Control Box or use the 'Search' option to locate a Printer Control Box that is already connected. This serial number can be found on the box itself. If you are unable to locate this serial, please contact support@bbot.menu.

Enter the unique name of your Printer Control Box and click 'Save'.

To add a new printer to your network, click the '+' sign.

You'll be presented with a popup menu where you will need to fill in the information below:
  • Printer Name: The name identifying the printer that you're adding.
  • Printer IP Address: The network IP address assigned to the printer based on the ethernet port it is plugged into. For instructions on printing out the IP address, click here.
  • Port That Printer Will Listen On (Leave for Default): The default port will always be 9100 and should not be changed unless there is a specific customized network configuration
  • Driver Profile: This is the specific model type and number for the printer you are using. A printer driver is a software that translates your computer data into a format your printer can understand.
  • This printer only prints tickets for another printer (to balance the workload): This setting is for using a printer for Load Balancing to help reduce the workload for your main printer.
  • Stations this printer serves: The Station is where the orders are fulfilled and controls what items are printed at that printer based on the selected station.
Once you've added the new printer, you can click on the specific printer to refine settings such as Receipt/Ticket Font Scale, the ticket width (paper size), select if this printer is used to print receipts, and which account owns this printer (if the PCB is used for multiple accounts). Once configured select 'Save'
After selecting the specific settings for your printer, you can send a test print to ensure your printer is configured correctly. To send a test print, select the printer and select the 'Send Test Print' Button at the bottom of the Pop-Up form.
You can then select what kind of test print you would like to send. Then click the 'Print' Button and confirm that the test print was printed.
To ensure test prints and orders print successfully, the printer and the Printer Control Box must be on the same network, which includes being on the same subnet. The subnet is the first three numbers of an IP address,192.168.100, for example. If the first three numbers of the printer are different than the Printer Control Box, orders will not print successfully.

To allow for printing from the Bbot Terminal, click the 'Edit' button in the 'Terminals on this Network'.

In the popup window, you will need to select which Device Profile would you like to print for. If you would like a different station to print as well, you will need to create a new network and then add the device profile. To ensure that orders print successfully, you need to make sure the printer and the device you're using to print orders are on the same network. You also need to make sure that the device that you are printing from is turned on and logged into the Bbot Terminal.

*Note*: Terminal printing is currently only supported for Epson printers.

After selecting the Device Profile, click the 'Submit' button to save your configuration.
