Connecting Your Otter Integration

Otter is an aggregator for third-party online ordering platforms like Grubhub, UberEats, and DoorDash. By connecting Bbot with Otter, you are able to have Bbot orders injected into the Otter platform as well as see sales and order data for Bbot in addition to any other third-party ordering platform.

Before you connect the integration in Bbot, you will need to make sure you've added the Bbot integration in the Otter Restaurant Business Manager.

Connect Otter in Bbot

Log in to your Bbot Owner Panel and navigate to the 'Bbot App Store' under 'Integrations'.

Locate the 'Otter Orders + Menus' integration, and click the blue 'Connect Otter' button.'

After clicking the 'Connect' button, you'll be prompted to enter the Store ID, provided by Otter, after entering the Store ID click the 'Submit' button to save the settings.

After clicking the 'Submit' button, you'll be presented with the possible configuration options for the Otter integration.

    • If selected: Orders placed with Bbot will inject directly into the Otter system and then injected into the restaurant POS.
    • If not selected: Otter menus will sync and display on your Bbot ordering site. The Bbot KDS will be used to fulfill orders placed with Bbot, and the Bbot Owner Panel will be used for all reporting and accounting associated with these orders.

Limitations to the Otter integration

  • Automatic Menu Sync: Otter does not support syncing the menu on a set interval i.e. every 5 minutes. When a new menu or a change to an existing menu is published, a menu sync will be triggered between Otter and Bbot.
  • Service Fees: All service fees in Bbot will show as Delivery fees in Otter.
  • Full Refunds: To refund an order you must cancel the order in Otter, canceling an order will automatically trigger a refund in Bbot.
  • Other: When Otter delivery orders are marked 'Complete' or 'Ready for Pickup' in the Otter KDS, it will not trigger the Bbot orders to update in the Bbot KDS. The Bbot order status will need to be manually updated in the Bbot KDS.

* If another POS integration is already connected, you will be prompted to disable that integration before enabling the Otter integration. If there are existing menu items in Bbot, you will be prompted to delete all menu items in order to activate the integration.
