Syncing Upserve Menus

Once you have successfully connected your Bbot x Upserve integration, you can sync Upserve menus to Bbot so that guests can start ordering. To get started, log in to your Bbot Owner Panel.

1. Navigate to the 'Menus' section under the 'Menu Management' heading.

2. When you first navigate to the 'Menus' section, you will initially land on the 'Menu Items' tab. Navigate to the 'Menus' tab.

3. Once you are under the 'Menus' tab, click the blue '+' icon to create a menu. Enter a name for the menu and click 'Add Menu'. Please keep in mind that this simply creates a 'shell' menu with nothing in it, and you still need to link your Upserve menu(s) to populate menu items in the next step. 

4. Click the link icon next to the menu you've created. A popup window will appear with a list of Upserve menu headers that can be synced with this Bbot menu.

5. Select whichever Upserve menu header(s) you would like to import to this Bbot menu, and click 'Submit'. 

A Few Important Notes on Headers:

  • Bbot only pulls headers from the menu selected in Upserve at the time of configuration. If you are missing any menu headings that you would like to tie to a menu in Bbot, you can adjust the menu headings for the connected menu in Upserve.
  • Bbot is unable to import subheaders from Upserve; menu items within subheaders will appear under the parent header.
  • All sides being used as modifiers in Upserve will display as part of a ‘Sides’ modifier group heading in Bbot.

6. Repeat steps 3-5 until you have imported all of the Upserve menu headings that you would like to sync with Bbot.

Once you've set up your menus following the steps above, they will sync automatically every 5 minutes, reflecting any changes made to your Upserve menus in your Bbot menus. You can also manually sync your menus from the ‘Menus’ page using the 'Check Upserve Menu Sync Status' button.


Notes on Items Not Visible to Guests:

  • Archived Items: Items marked ‘archived’ in Upserve will not sync to Bbot and will not display in the Bbot owner panel or any Bbot ordering sites
  • Out of Stock: Items with a stock of 0 in Upserve will not sync to Bbot and will not display in the Bbot owner panel or any Bbot ordering sites
  • Asterisk Items: Any Upserve menu item, modifier group, or modifier with an asterisk (*) before its name in Upserve will not be synced to Bbot and will not display in the Bbot owner panel or any Bbot ordering sites. For menu items and modifiers, this applies to the ‘Receipt Name’ in Upserve. For modifier groups, this applies to the 'Display Name' in Upserve
  • Disabled Items: Items not marked as 'Enabled' in Bbot will not show on Bbot ordering sites, and this setting will remain intact through menu syncs

Menu Item Display Position:

You can sort headers, menu items, modifiers, and modifier groups using the Bbot Menu Page UI. These settings will remain in effect on the BOS even after you sync Upserve Menus.
