Contractor and Self Install of Hardware
Pre-Installation Instructions Before Contractor Install:
- Configuring all existing Ethernet printers to have static IPs (if not already done) and providing the correct static IPs to Bbot before installation.
- For each tablet:
- Either clearly mark the installation location (e.g. a spot on a wall) or have staff on hand that know where they are to be installed.
- For each printer control box:
- Either clearly mark the installation location or have staff on hand that know where they are to be installed (usually the “back room server rack”).
- An Ethernet (wired, not wireless) internet connection. Should be clearly labelled “Bbot Internet”. Note: This can be any local network with an internet connection. If you intend to use the same local network as your POS, ensure that your POS maintainer is ok with it. Also note: Bbot’s contractor cannot run new ethernet cables through your walls.
- An Ethernet (wired, not wireless) connection to the network that the printers are on. Should be clearly labelled "Printer network". Depending on your POS and network setup, this may be the same Ethernet connection as the internet connection, or it may be different.
- Ensure that the Bbot Network Requirements are met to allow correct network communications. (Specific provided via separate document.)
