Spendgo Integration
Spendgo is an industry-leading loyalty and customer engagement platform for restaurants and retailers. By Integrating with Spendgo, you will be able to provide rewards to loyal guests to use on their orders.
To connect Spendgo to your Bbot account, navigate to the Bbot Owner Panel and select ‘Bbot App Store’ under 'Integrations'.
Use the drop-down menu to select 'Reservations, Rewards, & More' or the search bar to find the Spendgo Integration Tile.
Once you Locate the Thanx Integration Tile click the 'Connect' button.
You must fill out the form below with your Spendgo account information. Bbot will then submit the data to Spendgo who will automatically know which type of Reward will be applied at checkout.
- Store Code
- Account ID
- Client Secret Pay at Table
- API Key Pay at Table
- Client Secret Online Ordering
- API Key Online Orders
- Opt Into Rewards Link (Note: the URL must have https:// included)
Once you've entered all of the necessary information, click the 'Enter' button to finish setting up the integration.
On the checkout screen, the guest will see the name of the rewards program and the option to submit their number to opt into the rewards program. If you would like to customize the name shown, please contact our Support Team at bb-support@doordash.com.
After placing items in their cart and navigating to the checkout screen, guests will need to enter their phone numbers and then click the 'Submit' button. This generates a 6-digit code for two-factor authentication that will be sent to the guest via text message.
After the guest clicks submit, they will see a message stating, ‘Your Rewards balance is [integer; number of points]. Please select from the available rewards below to apply to this order’ will be shown. If there are no rewards, the message ‘You have no rewards that can be applied to this order’ will appear.
The guest will then select a reward from the options shown to apply to their order. Note: the guest will only be able to select one reward.
Once the guest has selected the reward they'd like to use, they then click ‘Apply Reward’ button and, if successful, a message stating ‘Reward Applied’ will appear. A line item with the Reward name and amount will appear under Subtotal on the checkout screen.
Note: this will appear before tip and tax are calculated. Those values will update to factor in the reward as well when calculating a new Total.
When placing orders through a handheld device or tablet, guests can also enroll in Spendgo rewards by entering their phone numbers in the field shown below.
The guest will then be sent a 6-digit code to verify their account and will be able to add any available awards to their order.
Types of Rewards
Spendgo offers three main types of rewards:
Points Banking Rewards: a loyalty program where you can earn unlimited points and redeem rewards with different points values (think of a hotel or airline program). For Point Banking Rewards, we will only display the rewards if the guest has enough points to redeem.
Spending Account Rewards: a type of loyalty program where you can earn up to a maximum amount of points and that then turns into a single reward (ex. earn $5 off every 50 points). All Spending Account rewards will be shown whether they can be used on the guest's purchase or not. If a guest attempts to apply a reward they cannot, they will get the following message: ‘Reward could not be Applied to Order’.
Shop with Points Rewards: a program similar to points banking where a member can redeem a variable value for a discount (like a gift card).
However, Spendgo’s architecture is very flexible and supports all types of sub-reward types, as well, including:
- Points per Visit
- Points per Dollar
- Stamps
- Dollar Off
- Percent Off
- Surprise & Delight
- Points Banking
- Pay with Points
- BOGO
- Win-Back
- Birthday
- Anniversary
- Cause Marketing
- Swag
- + More
If you don’t have access to a promotion in the Spendgo dashboard, your Spendgo Customer Success Manager can create it for you.
If you have a Toast integration you will need to create a promo code in Toast that can be used for the Spendgo discounts. To create a new promotion, click the 'Add a Discount' option.
- Name of discount: Your discount must contain the word 'Bbot' in its name. Ideally, choose a name similar to what you will name your discount in the Bbot system. For example, in Toast you may set up a discount called 'Bbot Test' and its counterpart in Bbot would be 'Test'.
- Discount type: The discount type must be a 'Fixed $ Off' or 'Fixed % Off' however for multi-vendor customers, all discounts should be set to 'Open $ Off'' to allow for the discount to be correctly split among the vendors.
- Promo Code: Do not enter a Promo Code as this will interfere with Bbot's ability to inject the discount into Toast.
- All remaining settings: Do not adjust any additional settings and do not set any conditions for the Toast Discount; any conditions or limitations of the discount will be set under the Promo Code in the Bbot owner panel.
Once all of the necessary fields have been completed, click the blue 'Save' button in the top right-hand corner of the screen. After saving, make sure to also publish your new Discount as well by clicking the 'Publish Now' link at the top of the screen
If you have a Multi-Vendor setup, connect the Spendgo integration to the parent account and have the vendor's loyalty controls granted to the parent account.
